Gran Vinya Son Caules 2015

This wine is obtained through a selection of grapes from the oldest vines according to their ripeness and quality. The best grapes from our old Callet vineyards make up this complex wine. It remains in French and American oak barrels (80% new) for 12 months and then an undetermined time in bottle until it becomes what is called “a great wine”.

Grape varieties: Callet from old vines (more than 60 years old on average).

Growing system: in goblet and trellis.

Location of the vineyard: Manacor and Felanitx

Denomination of Origin: D.O.P. Pla and Llevant- Mallorca

Type of wine: crianza red

Alcoholic strength: 13.5- 14 % vol.

Fermentation: temperature-controlled stainless steel tank

Aging: 12 months in French and American oak barrels, followed by bottle aging.

Tasting notes: Deep cherry red wine with purple rim. Very complex aromas reminiscent of jams, wild fruits, especially blackberry, there is also coffee, cocoa, leather, toasted aromas and a combination of spices. Silky and elegant in the mouth, full-bodied, round and balanced, with a long aftertaste reminiscent of dried fruits and the warmth of the Mediterranean.

Recommendations: It combines well with stews, red meat stews with wine and old cheeses.

Serving system: serve between 18º-20ºC.

What is the origin of our wines?

Currently, eleven small estates make up the 9 hectares of vineyards that produce the grapes for our wines. Most of them are located in the municipality of Manacor and some in Felanitx and Petra, and they are all registered in D.O.P. Pla i Llevant de Mallorca.

We grow all the grapes we produce and do not buy grapes from third parties, thus controlling the entire production process.
